Meet Lehasa Moloi
After finishing my high school education I joined the corporate world as production operator in an oil industry.
Growing up, I was the first of five siblings, four boys and a girl. My father was a forklift driver, and my mother was a domestic worker.We knew nothing about financial literacy
While working in the corporate world I decided to further my studies and went on to complete two degrees in financial management as well as a diploma in management accounting on a part-time basis.I had to fund my studies from my tiny budget.It was not easy to study part-time while working fulltime job.After completing my studies I was able to climb the corporate ladder and became an accountant, management accountant as well as manager management accounting department.
My corporate career ended in 2020 after 38 years.Given this experiece I felt I should start a personal finance blog to add value to your life and achieve financial peace of mind .
My first big financial accomplishment that lead me to financial independence
While working a corporate job I managed to invest in real estate and acquired few properties.I was able to apply the money lessons I learned from my corporate job.
What I did are things you can do right now, on your own, and they were:
- Contributing to my employer-sponsored retirement fund.
- Cutting my expenses.
- Investing in shares.
- Increasing my income by investing in real estate.
- And most importantly, believing in myself and developing the mindset that I could succeed – especially when other people doubted that I could do it.
